GENERAL QUESTIONS ABOUT OPVG

What is OPVG?

OPVG stands for Overseas Pakistani Volunteers Group, a non-profit community initiative founded in 2011 by a dedicated group of overseas Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia. The primary aim of OPVG is to support fellow Pakistanis living abroad—especially in times of hardship—through humanitarian aid, legal assistance, blood donation, educational support, and job search guidance.

Over the years, OPVG has grown into a trusted platform connecting overseas Pakistanis worldwide, promoting unity, and offering practical support both internationally and within Pakistan.

What it means to be an OPVG Family Member

Being an OPVG family member doesn’t just mean you signed a form and got a title. Nah-uh. It means:

💖 You’re part of a real support system – like desi rishtaydar but less nosy 😅.
🤝 You’re there for others, and others are there for you – in good times and tough ones.
🎯 You actively participate in group activities, events, and initiatives – not just a silent observer.

📣 You raise your voice when someone needs help – whether it’s a job, blood donation, or emotional support.

Basically, OPVG Family Member = Heart + Hustle + Humanity.

What services does OPVG provide?

OPVG provides a wide range of support services to overseas and local Pakistanis, including:

  • Job Finding Assistance – Helping unemployed members find suitable work opportunities.

  • Blood Donation & Emergency Support – Organizing urgent blood donations in Pakistan and abroad.

  • Legal Aid for Prisoners – Offering legal and financial help for non-criminal cases to assist in prisoner release.

  • Educational Support for Children – Supporting the education of children whose parents have passed away.

  • Marriage Support for Daughters – Assisting in the marriage of daughters in deserving families.

  • Monthly Online Meetings – Bringing members together virtually to stay connected and updated.

How can I become a member of OPVG?

You can apply for OPVG membership by visiting Become member – OPVG and filling out the membership form. After verification and approval, you’ll receive a digital membership card with a unique barcode for identification.Remember , Only Overseas Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia or other countries with legal status (IQAMA holders/Residents) and a clean criminal record, not involved in any illegal activities or crimes, are eligible to become OPVG members.
Approval does not automatically make you a full member — it is only the first step.
To become a member, you must also actively participate in community welfare activities.

Who can join working commitee?

We welcome anyone who wishes to serve on our working committee in areas such as job assistance, blood management or deceased-body management. To ensure everyone can contribute effectively, we follow these simple rules:

  • Blood Management
Committee members must be physically fit and eligible to donate blood. Anyone who cannot donate will be unable to help patients and therefore should not serve in this area.

  • Job Assistance
Members must be currently employed. An unemployed person who is actively seeking work will naturally prioritize their own job applications, which prevents them from helping other jobless community members. When a vacancy arises, we select 2–3 CVs and send them to HR; an unemployed committee member could only forward their own CV.

  • Deceased‑Body Management
This role requires physical and emotional resilience. Committee members should be in a stable situation so they can handle arrangements promptly and sensitively.

In short: only employed family members may serve as regional committee members in these service areas. Unemployed family members are not eligible, so that every committee member can focus fully on supporting others.

Does OPVG charge for its services?

No. All OPVG services are completely free of charge for overseas Pakistanis. The organization is run entirely by volunteers, and no one is paid for their work. OPVG does not engage in fundraising; all support activities are carried out purely through the personal contributions and efforts of its dedicated volunteer team.

How does OPVG help prisoners get released from Saudi jails?

At OPVG, we are strictly against fundraising. This principle has earned us the trust of millions of Overseas Pakistanis, especially in matters as sensitive as prisoner release from Saudi jails.

Here is how the process works:

  1. Initial Assessment:
When we receive a case, we collect complete details about the prisoner.

    • If the person is involved in criminal cases such as drug trafficking, robbery, murder, or fraud, we do not proceed.

    • If the case is non-criminal (e.g., unpaid fines, expired visa, or debts), we move to the next step.

  2. Family Background Verification:
We request the prisoner to provide family details in Pakistan.
Our volunteers physically verify the family’s living conditions.

    • If the family owns property, vehicles, or agricultural land, we advise the prisoner to ask their family to pay the fine.

    • If the family is living in rental housing and appears genuinely needy, we proceed with the support process.

  3. Transparent Fine Payment System:
We do not collect any funds ourselves. Instead, we share the official Sadad (سداد) subscription number issued by the Saudi court on our verified social media platforms.

    • Anyone in Saudi Arabia can log in to their bank account, go to Government Services > Ministry of Justice – Execution Agency, enter Biller Code 169, and input the Sadad number.

    • The exact pending amount will appear, and anyone can contribute SAR 50, 100, or more.

    • The system updates in real time, so others can see the remaining balance and continue contributing until the full fine is paid—often within hours.

  4. Final Steps:
Once the fine is fully paid:

    • We contact the Pakistan Embassy to issue an Out Pass.

    • Within a few weeks (or even days), the prisoner is released and safely returns home.

This transparent and direct approach, without fundraising or middlemen, is what makes OPVG uniquely trusted in the overseas Pakistani community.

VOLUNTEER QUESTIONS

How can I become a volunteer at OPVG?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions — and the answer is simple:

Register yourself as a member, and start helping others. That’s how you become a true OPVG volunteer.
We believe that volunteering is not about holding a card, it’s about taking action. Just having an OPVG membership card without contributing or supporting others won’t bring real value.

If you’re passionate about helping people, even in small ways, you’re already on the path to becoming a volunteer. OPVG is a platform of doers, not just members.

How does OPVG find blood donors for patients?

We use technology to make it easier and faster to save lives. OPVG has developed a dedicated blood donor app, available on the Google Play Store.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Volunteers Register as Donors:
Young people are encouraged to register as blood donors through the app.

  2. Patients Can Submit Requests:
Patients (or their families) can register on the app and request a specific blood group.

  3. Admin Review & Match:
Once the admin approves the request, the system searches for matching donors in the same city.

  4. Instant Notification to Donors:
When the admin taps the “Find” button and selects a donor, the donor receives a notification in the app with the patient’s details.

  5. Direct Contact:
The donor can then copy the patient’s number and contact them directly — no middleman, no delay.

This smart system helps connect patients and donors quickly, efficiently, and free of cost.
Since OPVG does not believe in fundraising, we rely on smart tools and volunteer efforts to serve humanity across the world — with no money involved, only intention and action.

How does OPVG provide legal assistance?

1️⃣ Support for Overseas Pakistanis (especially in Saudi Arabia):

Over 2.5 million Overseas Pakistanis live in Saudi Arabia and face daily legal concerns such as:

  • Iqama (residency) issues

  • Visa or visit visa problems

  • Family visa procedures

  • Traffic fines

  • Road accident guidance, and more.

To help them, OPVG runs an active Facebook group:
👉 facebook.com/groups/opvg.org

Members can post their legal questions. After admin approval, experienced members and volunteers respond with accurate and helpful guidance.

2️⃣ Legal Help for Issues in Pakistan:

Many Overseas Pakistanis face legal problems back home, such as:

  • Property disputes

  • Court cases

  • Tax registration or NTN issues

For this, OPVG has formed the OPVG Law Panel, consisting of experienced lawyers who provide legal advice free of cost to support overseas Pakistanis in resolving their legal matters in Pakistan.

At OPVG, we believe in empowering our members through free, transparent, and practical support, not fundraising or paid services.

How does OPVG help people find jobs?

At OPVG, we work with smart strategies and strong community connections — not with funding. Our volunteers are unpaid, and we do not accept donations or raise funds. Instead, we rely on the power of networking among millions of overseas Pakistanis.

Here’s how we help:

Job Sharing Through Our Network:

We encourage Overseas Pakistanis to share job openings from their companies with us. Once we receive job details:

  • We match them with registered members based on relevant skills and experience.

  • Job alerts are sent via email or WhatsApp directly to potential candidates.

Targeted Job Matching:

We don’t post every job publicly. Instead, we forward jobs only to specific groups of members who meet the requirements. This focused approach saves time for both employers and applicants.

Job Fairs & Direct Interviews:

If a company has multiple vacancies, OPVG is happy to organize a job fair or job expo where:

  • Jobseekers can meet directly with HR teams.

  • OPVG volunteers arrange everything — from basic hospitality (water/snacks) to seating and setup.

  • We welcome company representatives warmly and do our best to serve them, because every successful hire means one more jobless person is employed.

This no-cost, volunteer-driven system is another reason why OPVG is trusted by thousands of Pakistanis looking for meaningful job support — with dignity, transparency, and practical action.

SUPPORTERS QUESTIONS

Why should we support OPVG?

You should support OPVG because it is one of the few truly volunteer-based, transparent, and non-commercial platforms working for the welfare of Overseas and local Pakistanis — without asking for money.

Here’s what makes OPVG unique and worth supporting:

We do not collect donations, accept funding, or do fundraising of any kind. All work is done by volunteers, not paid staff — and that’s our biggest strength. Our mission is powered by intention, not money.

Helping Without Borders

From arranging emergency blood donations, releasing innocent prisoners, and providing legal guidance, to connecting people with jobs — OPVG serves humanity across borders, with no discrimination and no personal gain.

Real Results, Not Just Promises

  • We’ve saved countless lives through our blood donor app.

  • We’ve assisted in court cases, job placements, and education for those in need.

Transparency & Trust

We don’t ask for donations — instead, we empower people to help each other directly. Our platforms are public, our actions are visible, and our results speak for themselves.

How does OPVG install water hand pumps without fundraising?

It’s simple — we work smart, not commercial.
OPVG is run by unpaid volunteers, and we do not raise funds or accept donations into any central account. Instead, we use a direct, transparent, and efficient approach:

Here’s how the process works:

  1. Identifying the Need:
We first identify areas where clean drinking water is not available.

  2. Local Volunteer Assigned:
We find a local trusted person who can manage the hand pump installation on-site.

  3. Cost Estimation:
We calculate the total cost including:

    • Boring and digging

    • Hand pump material

    • Labor charges

    • Minor operational/admin costs

For example, one complete hand pump may cost PKR 15,000, all inclusive.

  4. Direct Payment by Supporter:
We do not collect money ourselves. Instead, the supporter pays directly to the person managing the hand pump project.

  5. Transparency with Proof:
    Once installed, the volunteer provides:

    • Pictures of the installed pump

    • Full address and Google Maps location

    • A brief confirmation report

We then share this proof on our official social media platforms, so anyone can verify that the pump is real and helping people.

This system ensures zero corruption, full transparency, and maximum impact — without needing any fundraising.

It’s another reason why people trust OPVG — because we don’t ask for donations, we connect people who want to help directly with those in need.

Where can we see OPVG’s completed projects?

At OPVG, transparency is our identity — we never hide anything.

All completed projects, whether it’s a prisoner release, a water pump installation, or a successful blood donation, are shared openly with the public through our social media channels.

Prisoner Release Cases:

When a prisoner is released and safely reaches Pakistan, we request them to record a short video message. These videos are then posted as success stories on our platforms.

Water Pump Installations:

For each hand pump:

  • We upload photos

  • Provide the exact address

  • Share the Google Maps location

This allows anyone to verify the project on their own.
